About

Do you enjoy searching out, cooking and eating the best local produce?

By the very fact you're reading this, I'm presuming that the answer is probably 'yes'.

I'm very fortunate living where I do, because when it comes to sourcing great local produce there are few counties in the whole of the UK that compare to Lancashire.

Lancashire plays host to a fantastic array of ingredients, many of them well known and famous throughout the country: Lancashire Cheese, Morecambe Bay Shrimps, Lune Wild Salmon, Salt Marsh Lamb and Bury Black Pudding, to name but a few. We produce fabulous beef and lamb, reared on the lush hillsides of East Lancashire,  and superb fresh vegetable accompaniments, grown in the fertile mosslands of West Lancashire. There are numerous small, artisan style businesses dedicated to preserving traditional methods and producing excellent specialist produce, such as: cheeses, chutneys and preserves, hand churned butter and numerous rare breed meat varieties. And, as if this isn't enough, Lancashire is also home to every variety of British game.

So there you have it, if you're a fan of good food and great tasting produce - shop local, everything you'll ever need is right here on your Lancashire doorstep!

My passion for food and Lancashire produce also extends to running the Slow Food group in the county. If you’d like to help us draw attention to some of the fantastic produce we have on offer and encourage others to do the same, please get in touch, we’re always on the lookout for new members. You're welcome to come along to any of our events (Slow Food member or not). We regularly meet with some of our top local producers, learn about their production methods and get to taste the results of their labours - All very enjoyable!
